The Kwele people are a tribal group of Eastern Gabon, Republic of Congo and Cameroon in Central Africa. The Kwele tribe are noted for ceremonial masks which are collected as art objects. This Kwele Mask would be worn by tribesmen for the passing of a deceased chief and is believed to ward off evil spirits. This African wall mounted mask is extremely rare and is the perfect piece for African art collectors.
