The Punu or Bapunu people are one of four major tribes of Gabon, inhabiting interior mountain and grassland areas. During traditional ceremonies related to the society, small wooden figures and masks appear alluding to their anti-witchcraft functions. This African figure honours the Kings advisors and was displayed in judicial ceremonies.
